Company Responsibility & Impact

Ethical Guidelines

We love our planet. Elon can keep Mars. The very best argument for fitness is that it allows you to go out and experience the natural world. The mountains, the lakes, the jungles, the deserts. We create products to support humans trying to improve their fitness and health. But we cannot pretend to operate our business in a vacuum, separated from its impacts on our planet. Below is our attempt to reconcile what we do and how we do it within the undeniable constraints of living and working on this planet.

Undeniable Operating Constraints

  1. We have only one planet and it has a finite amount of resources.
  2. Everything is connected. Pull a single thread and you’ll see how the whole sweater reacts.
  3. Business activity creates pollution waste. We have lights on in our office, print labels and ship our product on trucks that use gasoline. This all takes its toll. By making conscious choices about what and how we produce we can decrease the size of our impact. By supporting those doing work to reverse man’s impact on this planet, we can help minimize our long-term impact.

Acknowledging the above, we’ve created the following:

Company Guidelines

  • Always look for new ways to lessen our impact. from our ingredient sourcing to how we ship our product.
  • Support environmental activism with time, resources or both.
  • As we grow, expand our influence on our supply chain. We want to know the names of the cows where our whey comes from.

Product Quality Guidelines

  • Use only protein sources from grass-fed animals or sustainably farmed plant sources.
  • Use only naturally derived ingredients unless unavailable. If they are unavailable, pursue new formulas and ideas that use available natural ingredients.
  • Minimize the use of inactive ingredients. If it doesn’t make our product perform better, it isn’t needed.
  • Minimize environmental footprint of our packaging

The Least We Can Do

We donate our time, resources and at least 1% of our annual sales to groups fighting our most pressing environmental threats. There’s still a lot more we need to do to become a more responsible company. It is our never-ending pursuit. Learn more about 1% For the Planet.
